THE coat to be seen in this season is the camel coat.  This wardrobe staple has been seen on the runway courtesy of designers such as Chloe, Gucci and Hermes and will add glamour and indulgence to any outfit.

The fabulous thing about the camel coat is its versatility in that it will go with practically anything and can take you from day to night.  For the office, a tailored suit or dress with a silk scarf will look smart and sophisticated.  By wearing the camel coat with jeans and boots you can create a daytime look that will take you anywhere and a belted trench camel coat will add a sexy edge to a pencil skirt and heels in the evening.

There are several different shades of camel/beige to choose from and they will suit most skin tones.  We would advise, however, if you are blonde with a pale complexion that you opt for a cooler shade to compliment your skin tone.

The camel coat is available is several different styles including the oversized ‘dressing gown’ style, crumbier, straight cut and belted trench.  The military style came coat will suit most figures and by choosing this style you will cover two fall 2010 ‘must haves’!

Camel coats can be slightly more expensive, however, it is a timeless wardrobe classic and, if good quality, will last you forever.

This fashion essential is not just for the ladies though, it is also a staple feature in the man’s wardrobe.  This fall it is in the shape of a ¾ length pea coat or military style coat, which are both very versatile and give a cleaner, more tailored look.  This look can be finished with a good quality scarf and gloves in black, grey or brown cashmere or leather.

If you are still in possession of that niggling doubt that the cashmere coat is “old fashioned” then just take a look through any fashion magazine to see numerous celebrities sporting this look.  Take a look at these fashionista’s for tips on how to wear it.
